On this website critics examine a number of popular health and beauty products available on the market today. The information presented on the site about each of the products assessed has been obtained from publicly available sources. Those critics and this web site are sponsored by Rauscher | Bekke, manufacturers of Dermapril-SP. The information on this website is intended to inform and educate consumers. OverviewThe first thing we notice about the Andrea skin care line is how very little information is available on the company that makes these products. While that in itself is not necessarily a bad thing, it does ring a bit strange in the world of Internet connections and email communications. However, Andrea skin care products can be found at a wide variety of online retailers and stores nationwide, so these products are readily available and reasonably priced. The Andrea skin care products have a reputation for high quality ingredients that are used for nails, body, eyes and face, including the Andrea Wrinkle Release Eye Cream. An anti-aging facial cream has also been available from this line in the past, but we were unable to find any retailers selling this product currently. The Andrea Wrinkle Release Eye Cream claims to be clinically proven in reducing the appearance of deep wrinkles around the eyes by 68%. That is a tall order for a simple cream that is applied once or twice a day. In addition, this cream can plump and smooth the delicate skin around the eye while it reduces the look of dark circles and puffiness. The cream supposedly provides all of these functions through a combination of clinically tested anti-aging ingredients and botanicals designed to soothe and smooth the skin. Product DetailThe main ingredient in the Andrea Wrinkle Release Eye Cream is matrixyl, which is also known as palmitoyl pentapeptide-3. This substance has been clinically proven to diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles on the face with a combination of amino and fatty acids. This ingredient is found in numerous anti-aging products, often in combination with argireline. Argireline works by relaxing facial muscles that can lead to wrinkles. These two substances in tandem can provide highly effective anti-aging properties. While matrixyl is present in the Andrea Wrinkle Release Eye Cream, argireline is not. Other ingredients that are listed for the Andrea Skin Care eye cream include herbal extracts like licorice, bilberry, chamomile and caffeine. All of these are supposed to reduce puffiness and the appearance of dark circles. The product also states that it has "soft focus filters" that direct light away from wrinkles for a more youthful appearance. This “reflecting” technique is also used in many mineral makeup lines. The Good
The Bad
The Bottom LineFor a product that contains matrixyl at a reasonable price, the Andrea Wrinkle Release Eye Cream could be worth a try. However, there are other products that provide the matrixyl along with a much more solid customer support set up, and we’d probably go with one of these products. After all, if the manufacturers have enough confidence in their products to offer a no questions asked return policy, then they may be on to something!
