On this website critics examine a number of popular health and beauty products available on the market today. The information presented on the site about each of the products assessed has been obtained from publicly available sources. Those critics and this web site are sponsored by Rauscher | Bekke, manufacturers of Dermapril-SP. The information on this website is intended to inform and educate consumers. OverviewThe company that makes the Avene TriXera product is Avene Dermatological Laboratories. This was one of the first cosmetics companies in Europe that worked closely with pharmaceuticals to develop products that are effective in meeting a whole host of skin care needs. The Avene TriXera line boasts the addition of Avene spring water, which is thought to be rich in minerals and an excellent source of hydration for the skin. In fact, Avene boasts a new Hydrotherapy Center that takes full advantage of the spring water found there with a full commitment to the field of dermatology. The Avene TriXera products are said to be some of the best hydration products around. The emollient cream is a hypoallergenic treatment option for people with extremely dry and sensitive skin. According to the websites that sells this product, the ingredients found within are gentle enough to make Avene TriXera safe for even babies and young children. It claims that the TriXera product can treat many skin conditions like eczema or simple irritation to the skin. The recommendations are to use the emollient at least twice a day on dry skin for best results. Product DetailsAvene TriXera has numerous hydrating ingredients, including Avene’s patented spring water, that makes up more than half of the emollient. According to legend – and the Avene company website—knowledge of the curative powers of the thermal spring water found here date back 250 years. Supposedly it was this spring water that was used to treat the burn victims of the Chicago fire in 1871. Today, that simple spring has evolved into a dermatological laboratory where products are tested by staff scientists. Other ingredients within the Avene TriXera emollient include mineral oil, coconut oil and evening primrose oil. Clinical studies for the ingredients are cited on the company website, and you can find a full listing of ingredients at an assortment of websites that sell the product. While this information is encouraging indeed, we are a little disappointed in the types of ingredients that are listed – or more importantly not listed - for the Avene TriXera products. There are no proven anti-aging substances like hyaluronic acid, argireline, collagen or matrixyl in this Avene product. The Good
The Bad
The Bottom LineAvene Dermatological Laboratories make a line of skin care products that have numerous benefits and some have clinical research to back them up. Avene TriXera is a product that has phenomenal hydrating potential. However, as an anti-aging product, it is nowhere near the mark with the ingredients that it provides. Look elsewhere for products to fight the aging process and keep this one as an effective moisturizer.
