Overview
Beleza Medspa in Austin and Round Rock, Texas offers a fairly standard selection of non-surgical cosmetic treatments including microdermabrasion, light therapy, and Botox injections. The cost of the treatments varies but, as with most in-spa treatments, they are relatively expensive when compared to buying at-home topical products. Some consumers may prefer the “pampered” feel of getting skin care and rejuvenation treatments in a spa-like environment, but we find that most consumers have a limited budget for skin care and would prefer to take care of their skin care needs in their own homes. In the next section, we will take a closer look at whether in-home treatments can compare to Beleza Medspa treatments.
Beleza Medspa’s website is informative and helpful. For some procedures, the spa includes videos explaining the process. The company also claims that satisfaction is guaranteed although there is no detail provided as to what that actually means.
Procedure Details
For this review, we will focus on two procedures offered by Beleza Medspa to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. The first is Botox. This procedure injects botulism toxin sub-dermally on the face to paralyze the facial muscles that can cause wrinkles. This is especially effective on forehead wrinkles. Botox® injections are reasonably uncomfortable if not painful for most people and the procedure must be repeated every two to six months to maintain results. The good news is that there is a topical skin care ingredient that offers a similar result without the pain and high price tag. Argiriline is a peptide that penetrates skin to relax underlying facial muscles. We find Argiriline included in many of the best-rated anti-aging products for this reason. While Argiriline is applied daily, it is completely discomfort-free.
Another procedure offered by Beleza Medspa is the injection of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid (or HA) is a substance found naturally in the body but whose production declines as we age. HA can hold over 1,000 times its own weight in water and has been clinically-proven to deeply hydrate the skin. The good news here is that hyaluronic acid is available in higher-quality topical applications and it can easily penetrate the skin on its own, no needles required. Some of the highest-rated skin care creams and serums team hyaluronic acid up with Argiriline and another peptide called Matrixyl 3000 for dramatic and long-lasting effects on wrinkles.
The Good
- Non-surgical treatments provided in a spa-like atmosphere at Beleza Medspa sites.
- Proven effective anti-aging treatments offered.
The Bad
- In-spa treatments are expensive compared to topical applications.
- Beleza Medspa treatments can be uncomfortable or even painful.
- No details on money-back guarantee offered.
- Treatments must be repeated to maintain results.
The Bottom Line
While in-spa treatments like those offered by Beleza Medspa definitely work, they tend to be viable solutions to only the wealthiest customers. For many years, however, there was simply no other effective method of reducing wrinkles. Now, however, there are topical creams and serums on the market with clinically-proven anti-wrinkle capabilities that do not require a lot of time, expense, or physical discomfort. We recommend that consumers research these products before spending a small fortune at a spa.
