On this website critics examine a number of popular health and beauty products available on the market today. The information presented on the site about each of the products assessed has been obtained from publicly available sources. Those critics and this web site are sponsored by Rauscher | Bekke, manufacturers of Dermapril-SP. The information on this website is intended to inform and educate consumers. OverviewSkinCeuticals is the company the brings us the product CE Ferulic; a company that is well known for its focus on research and development in the field of skin care. In fact, this company conducts much of the research on its products at well recognized institutions like Duke University Medical Center and the National Institute of Health. CE Ferulic already has a point in its corner, with backing from a sound skin care company. However, we will look closely at this product to determine whether it really can deliver what it promises. CE Ferulic combines some potent antioxidants into a formula that is designed to "neutralize free radicals, help build collagen and provide “unmatched antioxidant protection", according to the company website. The product is available for sale through the company website and also from numerous online retailers. The price is on the high side at about $140 at the time of this review. If you purchase the product directly from the company, there does seem to be a 30-day money back guarantee available. Skinceuticals recommends that you use the product each morning by applying a few drops to the face, neck and chest. The product will absorb into the skin, where it cannot be washed off. It is also advised that you follow up the application of CE Ferulic with one of the company's moisturizers and sunscreen. Product DetailsThere are three main ingredients that are touted in CE Ferulic; L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), alpha tocopherol (vitamin E) and ferulic acid. Vitamins C and E are powerful antioxidants, particularly in the concentration that is provided in the CE Ferulic formula. While most professionals will recommend a minimum of 10% L-ascorbic acid to be included in an effective skin treatment, CE Ferulic provides 15%. The ferulic acid in the formula is supposed to boost the effectiveness of the vitamins in protecting the skin from damage caused by UVA and UVB rays. According to SkinCeuticals, that boost in effectiveness is as high as double the protection with just the vitamins C and E. While the antioxidant combination sounds very promising at protecting the skin from free radical damage, there are no other ingredients that would suggest this product would be effective in diminishing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. For this purpose, we would watch for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, matrixyl 3000, argireline and soluble collagen. None of these ingredients are listed for CE Ferulic. The Good
The Bad
The Bottom LineFor the money, this product may offer you all of the antioxidant protection you have ever wanted. However, as a wrinkle cream, the CE Ferulic leaves much to be desired. We see no ingredients in this product that will actually help to minimize existing wrinkles, although it does seem like it would provide pretty good protection to prevent new wrinkles.
