Overview
Unlike many products that we review on our site, Ceramide-C is a capsule. Users are meant to break open the capsule and apply the vitamin concentrate serum that is stored within it. The manufacturer claims that Ceramide-C will help reduce wrinkles on the throat, hands and face. Supposedly, one capsule contains enough to cover all of these areas. In addition to using vitamins, Ceramide-C also uses the active ingredient ceramide, which the manufacturers claim is a naturally occurring substance in human skin. As we age, our skin loses its natural ceramide, making it more vulnerable to the environmental factors that are responsible for aging. Ceramide-C combats this by replenishing the body’s natural ceramide supply.
The manufacturers of Ceramide-C claim that their unique use of capsules to store their product is both a way to regulate the amount used, and a way to maintain a higher level of product purity. They also claim that their product formula absorbs into the skin more quickly than rival formulas, meaning that it leaves no oily or sticky residue. Additionally, the product is claimed to be free of both artificial fragrances and preservatives, making it potentially suitable for users with sensitive or allergy-prone skin types.
Product Details
A full list of ingredients found in Ceramide-C is: Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, dl-Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Squalene (99% pure), Trihydroxypalmitami-dohrexypropyl Mysristyl Ether HO3 (Ceramide), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Grape Seed Extract, Orange Blossom Extract (Vitamin C), Evening Primrose Extract, Tocotrienol, Cucumber Extract.
This list does seem to support the manufacturer’s assertion that the product contains no artificial scents or potentially irritating preservatives. The key ingredient, ceramide, has also been the subject of cancer research, due to its potential skin cell rehabilitating properties. Vitamin A and Vitamin E are known antioxidants, which are known to combat damaging free radicals.
The Good
- Product comes a 100 day money back guarantee.
- Product contains antioxidants.
- Product does not contain preservatives or artificial scents.
The Bad
- Difficult to find information on product manufacturer.
- Official website gives a one paragraph explanation of ceramide but, considering this is the backbone of the product, we’d like to see a whole lot more about this ingredient.
- Not enough product development information given. Would like product trials, comparisons, etc.
- No product trials supplied on official website.
The Bottom Line
Based on the ingredients list alone, there are definitely worse products that you can buy on the anti-wrinkle market today than Ceramide-C. We like products that contain antioxidants, and we also like products that keep artificial ingredients to a minimum. Still, we’d be happy to see a bit more info about Ceramide-C in particular. While Ceramide-C’s capsule containers definitely set it apart visually from other products, we’d like to know more about this technology (for example, how long it stays fresh and what makes up the capsules.) This makes Ceramide-C’s capsules into something of an unknown factor. Also, with so much viable information available from the medical community about the active ingredient ceramide, again, we’d like to see more of it posted on the product website.
