Clinique Repairwear Review

Updated On:

Overview

Clinique Repairwear is a company whose products are primarily designed for face and eye anti-ageing treatments, or so they claim. We could find very little information on the actual individual products, despite the well-established nature of the company. There's a lot of information on the company itself, but not the products – we could find no ingredients listed on the Clinique site. Therefore, we had to seek out other review sites and affiliate programs to find more information on some of these products from Clinique. They make no explicit anti-ageing promises on the site, but rather seem to cater to the user’s general skin health. There are ingredients that we found, some of which may help in this process. The main product we found this list for is the Clinique Repairwear Intensive Night Cream, and it's priced the lowest at $64.

Product Details

The following are included in the Clinique Repairwear night cream: water (aqua purificata) purified, pentaery, thrityl tetraoctanoate, butylene glycol, cyclomethicone, isocetyl sterate, glycerin, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, glyceryl stearate, dimethicone, hydrogenated lecithin, ceteayrl alcohol, glycine soja (soybean) protein, camellia sinensis (white tea) leaf water, aspalathus linearis (red tea) extract, camellia sinensus (yellow tea) leaf water, polygonum cuspidatum root extract, tritcum vulgare (wheat) germ extract, artemia extract, hordeum vulgare (barley) extract, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, saccharomyces lysate extract, betula alba (birch) bark extract), centella asiatica (hydrocotyl) extract, yeast extract (faex), chamomilla recutita (matricaria) extract, phospholipids, sodium rna, cholesterol, caffeine, phytosphingosine, sodium hyaluronate, ascorbyl tocopheryl maleate, nordihydroguaiaretic acid, cetyl ricinoleate, tocopheryl acetate, linolenic acid, trehalose, sucrose, linoleic acid, myristyl myristate, betaine, cetearyl glucoside, petrolatum, squalane, methyldihydrojasmonate, propylene glycol dicaprate, isohexadecane, acrylamide/sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate copolymer, acrylates/c10-30, alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, polyglyceryl, 3 beeswax, tromethamine, methyl phenylbutanol, floraozone, peg-100 stearate, polysorbate 80, bht, disodium edta, sodium dehydroacetate, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, ethyl paraben, propylparaben.

The Good

  • There are plenty of natural ingredients that help to keep the skin moist enough to promote anti-ageing with collagen stimulants.
  • It seems that the product is comparatively low-priced relative to some products online.
  • The website does list a few things about how to determine what skin care products are best for your skin.

The Bad

  • We feel that it really isn't good practice for a company advertising skin care products not to have all relevant information listed on the website. People looking for products should expect to do research, yes, but the company should have everything available in one place.
  • There are many products to choose from, but it's never specified which does what.
  • No refund policy or trial offers are available at this time.
  • The website also has no online testimonials.
  • The products can contain parabens as a preservative, which dry out the skin.

The Bottom Line

Although Clinique has a professional-looking website, there isn't a lot of information readily available. They don't offer information about which specific products to use, even though there's a wide selection. You could end up spending a lot of money on products that aren't even intended for you. It's better to go with a company that has more information directly available. Clinique is a reliable makeup brand, but we’re not quite convinced about their skin care range.

Our Top Pick For 2009:  Dermapril-SP

Dermapril-SP was rated the best-in-class performer, with a cutting-edge formula and results visible immediately after use. Matrixyl 3000™, the primary active ingredient in Dermapril-SP, is backed by clinical research that showed reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles of as much as 33% after two months of use. Additionally, the formula contains the European miracle ingredient Argatensyl™, which creates an immediate tightening effect on applied areas, making results visible within minutes of use.

The treatment helps the skin regain a more youthful biochemical makeup by supporting the natural production of three building blocks – Collagen, Fibronectin and Hyaluronic Acid. The result is a rapid rejuvenation, diminishing the appearance of wrinkles and other cosmetic signs of age caused by sun exposure, smoking, stress, and other common factors.

In clinical trials, Matrixyl 3000™ decreased the appearance of wrinkles by as much as 33% over a six week period. With the immediate tightening benefits of Argatensyl™, this formula has a completely unique combination of short-term cosmetic results as well as sustained, cumulative benefits to the skin. Common reported results include smoothing and firming; softer skin; diminished appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; and healthier looking, glowing skin. Based on the high cost and quality of the ingredients, Dermapril-SP is reasonably priced. Customer satisfaction seems high and Dermapril-SP offers a risk-free trial, so users can evaluate the product prior to paying the full retail price.
