Cover FX Review

Updated On:

Overview

Cover FX is a Canadian based cosmetic company founded by Lee Graff, who worked as a make up artist in a cosmetic clinic for many years. Over the years she discovered a lack of decent skincare products, and then combined her practical knowledge with the help of a dermatologist to launch Cover FX products. The major thrust of her company has been the manufacture of cosmetic and beauty products that are free of oils. Cover FX offers many cosmetic and beauty products, ranging from makeup, skin care, fragrances, bath & body and hair treatment solutions. Even though there is a Cover FX website, all consumers are referred to the dealer, Sephora, for product information. Among the many cosmetic creams, Cover FX offfers a variety of specific skincare products. These include skin tints, moisturizers, Concealers and face masks. The Website claims that application of these products will make one look young and natural. The majority of Cover FX creams are useful for all types of skin. Lee Graff does mention that application of her products leads to a decrease in wrinkles and reinforces the skin tone.

Cover FX products are frequently sold in a kit, which come with a cover FX cleansing solution, Powder FX mineral based powders, and lotions. The highly touted Powder FX is claimed to hide all a user’s blemishes and is specially formulated for sensitive and acne prone skin. The majority of these powders are oil free and said to work without clogging up pores. Other Cover FX products include a Priming serum, and Skin Prep FX treatment that is designed to work with makeup products. The site indicates that application of the serum will lead to more collagen production and elimination of wrinkles.

The Good

  • Tips and tricks for makeup application available on the website.
  • Complimentary cosmetic samples of Cover FX available at Nordstrom’s.
  • Has a blog that discusses skin problems.
  • Pre and post photos.
  • Products are water based,
  • Good for all skin types and do not clog up pores.

The Bad

  • No testimonials.
  • Nothing specifically targeted towards wrinkles in these ingredients.
  • No outstanding or advanced ingredients.
  • Expensive line of products.
  • Ingredients contain a lot of synthetic chemicals.

The Bottom Line

It appears that Cover FX has a decent line of skin care and beauty products for those who have oily skin or acne. The majority of products on the website are water based and simply function as moisturizers and hydrate the skin. While the product does contain Retinol and Hyaluronate, there is nothing special about the other ingredients. In fact, the product list reveals a number of synthetic chemicals. For those who are seeking a natural product to reverse the signs of aging, Cover FX will not meet your expectations. Those who do frequent Nordstrom’s may want to try out a sample before buying this expensive line of beauty creams.
