Cyrstalift Review

Overview

Crystalift is a home Microdermabrasion kit that has been around for some years. The company mentions that this small, portable machine will help rejuvenate your skin and make you look young and healthy. The machine does use the latest vacuum technology and is often used in many spas and clinics. Like all microdermabraison devices, the Crystalift smoothes the skin and removes the superficial dead skin and other skin debris.

The majority of individuals get microdermabraison at professional spas, but recently there has been a trend towards home use of this device. While home dermabraison is always cheaper than going to a spa on a regular basis, home devices like Crystalift also have a few drawbacks. Firstly, one must have some knowledge how to use the device, and secondly the frequency of use must be limited. More is not always better with Microdermabrasion. Frequent administration of these rough treatments can lead to more skin damage and irritation. However, when used appropriately the device does produce fairly decent results.

Product Details

Microdermabrasion with the Crystalift theoretically allows removal of most superficial skin in a controlled and gentle manner. The device has a small vacuum that sucks up all of the skin debris. The procedure is claimed to be completely painless. Once the procedure is completed, a soothing cream is applied to the skin. There is little or no downtime after using the Crystalift device.

The Crystalift package includes refills, an instructional DVD, an instructional manual, the ISIS Aqua bright gel cleanser and the Zense hydrating mask for application after using the Crystalift device.

The Good

  • Company website does explain details about the device and how to use it.
  • Many testimonials.

The Bad

  • Expensive; costs about $250 or more depending on the package you select.
  • There is no posted clinical data about its effectiveness.
  • No pre or post photos.
  • May not work for all individuals.
  • Even with the extensive instructional materials that are included, home microdermabrasion could be difficult.

The Bottom Line

Microdermabrasion done at a spa or a clinic can cost anywhere from $150 to $300 per session. And often the results are mediocre at best. Now we have home Microdermabrasion. The device costs about $225, which would seem to indicate a savings for consumers. The Crystalift manufacturers claim that the device is widely used in spas and clinics. However, many people buy a lot of skin care devices and never use them. If one has some minor skin flaws and is a serious skin care lover, then perhaps this Crystalift machine may really save money. It seems that the device is best suited for very minor skin imperfections and sun spots. Zinging the skin for a few minutes with a rotating device is not a cure for aging, and Crystalift is probably best for consumers who have tried spa microdermabrasion and liked the way that their skin looked afterwards. For the deep lines or wrinkles, the machine will make no difference to your skin.
