Over the years, Cuticura has become quite well known for it extensive line of skincare and beauty products, the most famous of which are the medicated soaps. In the last few years, Cuticura has transformed from hand products to a long line of hair, face and body care creams. Cuticura products are widely available in most departmental stores and are affordable. One of the latest Cuticura product that is being advertised is the Hydrating Facial Moisturizer. This multi-function products is claimed to treat minor skin disorders like minor burns, abrasions, lacerations, allergic rashes, and is also claimed to revitalize the skin at the same time. Cuticura claims that daily use of this product can help nourish and replenish new skin so that it appears refreshing, appealing, soft and soothing. Other related Cuticura products include the hand sanitizer, medicated face wash, and makeup removers.
The Cuticura website does mention that it’s new avant-garden manufacturing and warehouse facilities have helped in the creation of these novel products.
Product Ingredients
Unfortunately, Cuticura does not mention all of the ingredients that go into their individual products. The chief ingredients include Aloe Vera, unknown antioxidants and phenol.
Phenol is a frequent ingredient in skincare products. It has the ability to kill micro-organisms and can help clean the skin. Phenol is sometimes used as a peeling agent, but because it has profound side effects, its use is limited. In small concentration, phenol can help remove dead skin and help stimulate the growth of new skin cells. Aloe Vera is most likely responsible for the healing properties of Cuticura products. While Cuticura does contain some “anti oxidants” it is hard to make any judgments on the product unless one knows more about these.

The ingredients are very basic and both Aloe Vera and phenol probably play a role in infection control. Depending on the concentration of phenol, it may also work as a peeling agent. Cuticura products are for everyday use on the hands and body. The one group of individuals who may benefit from Cuticura are health care professionals and individuals who work in a health-based environment. The constant washing of the hands leads to dryness and Cuticura acts both as a moisturizer and has anti-bacterial lotion. However, for diminishing facial wrinkles, you’d be best looking elsewhere.
