Derma E Review

Updated On:

Overview

The skin care product line Derma E base all of their product formulas on blending natural ingredients with modern technology. The product manufacturers have come to the conclusion that not only are natural ingredients powerful, they’re also the safest available for use in skin care formulations. In addition to their anti-aging products, Derma E also makes products designed to help with pimples, spider veins, scars, cracked skin, itching and other common problems. The brand manufacturer, Derma E Natural Body Care, has been in business for over 20 years.

Derma E begins by helpfully outlining the products that they consider “essential.” Basically, they say that to get good looking skin, you need to take good care of it. With this in mind, the four essential skin care steps are: Cleanse. Exfoliate. Tone. Moisturize. According to the official Derma E website, this routine will have anyone’s skin looking younger and healthier. Derma E goes on to offer a course of products that correspond to these skin care steps.

Derma E does have a dedicated anti-aging line as well. For this line, the formulas all focus on antioxidants. This means that many steps of the Derma E anti-aging process will feature Vitamins A, E and C. In keeping with research data about skin damaging free radicals, these antioxidants have been shown to provide beneficial effects with topical application, although ultimately they will do more to protect skin than they will to repair existing wrinkles.

Product Details

Derma E’s anti-wrinkle line of products focus on getting antioxidants to the skin topically. However, while these are good for preventing wrinkles, they'll do little for those you may already have developed. The manufacturer makes several products specifically designed to fight wrinkles, and it could be difficult for users to determine which product is right for them. We’ll start by looking at the Derma E Peptide Plus Anti Wrinkle Crème, which seems to be one of the brand’s signature anti-wrinkle products.

The Derma E Peptide Plus Anti Wrinkle Crème seems to be a good example of the Derma E nature-meets-science approach. In addition to natural antioxidants, this product contains laboratory-synthesized peptides that aid in repairing damaged skin. One of these active ingredients is Matryxl, which has been shown to stimulate the skin’s collagen production. The other is Argireline, which has been shown to relax the facial muscles. This in turn should theoretically reduce the likelihood of new wrinkles appearing.

The full list of ingredients found in Derma E Peptide Plus Anti Wrinkle Crème is: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 (Argireline®), Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 (Matrixyl™), Stearic Acid, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Polysorbate 20, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate (C-Ester), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D), Pinus Pinaster (Pycnogenol®) Bark Extract, Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Panthenol, Xanthan Gum, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer (Aristoflex®), Dimethicone, Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrant Oils (Essential Oils).

The Good

  • Official website does a good job of explaining the purpose of many ingredients.
  • Free product sampler pack available from official website.

The Bad

  • Long-term effects of some ingredients not fully understood.
  • Can be difficult to figure out which product is right for you.
  • Ideal multi-step care regimen could become time consuming and expensive.
  • Antioxidants are important for protection, but do little to treat existing wrinkles.

The Bottom Line

This looks to be a fairly solid product. We just wish that the official site would provide a bit more information about the products themselves. We certainly appreciate Derma E’s extensive breakdown of different product ingredients, but we’d like to know more about how these products formulas were developed and tested.
