The anti-aging and anti-wrinkle skin care products available from Emlin include the Moisture Cleanser, Toning Lotion, Concentree, Soft Awakening, Emoisten Crème, and a Honey & Almond Masque. The makers of Emlin products claim that they are incredibly effective in restoring skin’s elasticity. The main function of Emlin anti-wrinkle products is to replace moisture loss below the outer layer of skin.

Product Details

The main ingredient in Emlin products is mink oil. The Emlin Moisture Cleanser is specifically balanced to clean facial skin while providing moisture to prevent drying. Emlin Toning Lotion is an alcohol-free toner meant to be used after the Moisture Cleanser. The Concentree is an extremely concentrated bottle of mink oil which is used after cleansing and toning the skin. It is used to prevent moisture loss and is especially beneficial to extremely dry skin. Emlin recommends this product for wrinkle-prone areas such as under the eyes and around the neck area. The Emlin Soft Awakening product is an “extreme moisturizer” that is said to promote younger looking skin. It is for use around the eye and lip areas. It contains mink oil but it is not in as pure of a concentrated form as the Concentree is. The Emoisten Crème moisturizer with mink oil is for all areas of the skin. It can be used throughout the day to prevent moisture loss. The Emlin Honey & Almond Masque is used to exfoliate and provide a deep, yet gentle, clean. Emlin claims that this can be used on all skin types.

The Good

  • The moisture formulations are said to be very similar to human sebum. Research on similar products containing mink oil indicate it might improve irritating skin conditions and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
  • Online reviews from various websites are favorable, but there are very few to be found.

The Bad

  • Skin care products with oil are not effective for all skin types, especially those who are prone to acne.
  • Although Emlin claims their products effectively restore skin’s elasticity, we found no clinical trials to confirm these claims.
  • Emlin anti-wrinkle products do not appear to contain collagen, which is the main ingredient in many anti-aging regimens that are proven to work.
  • Emlin’s official website does not provide a complete list of product ingredients, customer testimonials, or information on their manufacturing processes.

The Bottom Line

Overall, Emlin does not provide a lot of information about its line of cosmetic, anti-wrinkle, or bath products. Research does suggest that products that contain mink oil are good for moisturizing the skin and preventing premature wrinkles, however. The company has been manufacturing cosmetics and like products since the 1970’s. The products are sold online and via sales representatives much the same way Avon products are sold. Emlin’s website states that all of their products are formulated with proven ingredients, but without a complete list, we have been unable to confirm this.
