Epicuren products are sold only by salons and health centres with licensed aestheticians, trained and certified in Epicuren enzyme skin care. The manufacturers of this product have named the primary active ingredient in these expensive skin products as the Epicuren Enzyme Protein Complex. The latest anti-aging and anti wrinkle product to be launched by Epicuren is the Bio Peptide Complex Serum which is marketed as reducing deep wrinkles, as well as reducing enlarged pores, and healing surface imperfections. The second anti-aging face product by Epicuren is known as the Epicuren Hydrolyzed Placenta Serum. Epicuren tells us that this serum will regenerate and invigorate your skin, enabling you to maintain your youthful appearance. The composition in this placenta serum mimics the biological effect and makeup of the mammal placenta. Fortunately, right when we were getting a little grossed out, Epicuren goes on to assure us that there are no animal products in the serum.

Product Details

Although Epicuren has an official website, if you want to access any of Epicuren’s skin products you will need to visit one of its approved salons. On its website Epicuren states that it does not authorize online sales of its products. Their official website gives detail of salons, how to train as an Epicuren aesthetician, and also gives details of products available in Epicuren salons. We could not find any price details on the website.

The ingredients in the Bio Peptide Complex Serum include Bio Peptides, Tripeptides, Polypeptides, Water, Yeast extract, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Arginnine, Albumen, Xanthan Gum, Glycerine, Dimethicone and Optiphen. The second face product known as the Hydrolyzed Placenta Serum is derived from aloe barbadensis gel and hydrolyzed soya serum. The product also includes hyaluronic acid. Hylauronic Acid has recently been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

The manufacturers tell us that once opened these products need to be kept in the fridge. They also tell us that some people experience reactions to these products after using them, such as dry skin and bumps, but they assure us on their website that such reactions are only temporary.

The Bad

  • These skin care products can only be obtained from an authorized Epicuren salon.
  • These products are not suitable for those with sensitive skin, due to the reactions that can develop after use.
  • There is no concrete evidence clinical evidence offered to show that gold is effective at fighting the aging process.
  • $420 is a pretty high price tag, even if it does contain gold.

The Bottom Line

These two anti aging and anti wrinkle products by Epicuren contain ingredients that are common in other anti-aging products, such as peptides and hyaluronic acid. We would like to see some more concrete evidence, or the results of some research trials, before we can recommend Epicuren and justify its sky-high price tag.
