Overview
Epi-Elegance markets a few skin care products through various online retailers. We were unable to locate an official website for the company, however. The Epi-Elegance Red Tea Serum is described by the online retailers’ websites as being twice as powerful as green tea serum. It is claimed to effectively reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Because Epi-Elegance Age Defying Red Tea Serum is not sold on the manufacturer’s website, there is no indication of any satisfaction guarantee through the company. In fact, all of the online retailers state that the product is non-refundable. We were also unable to locate any information about product samples or trial sizes being available.
Product Details
There are three ingredients listed by these third-party online retailers as being included in the EpiElegance Age Defying Red Tea Serum. These are: rooibos (red tea) extract, hyaluronic acid, and distilled water. Rooibos is a plant that is native to Africa. The leaves and stems of the rooibos are used to make a tea. Like green tea, rooibos is said to provide antioxidant benefits. Also like green tea, most of the independent research has focused on the benefits when taken internally, not when applied topically. Unfortunately, there is no information about any clinical studies that Epi-Elegance commissioned to support the effectiveness of this ingredient.
The inclusion of hyaluronic acid is promising. Hyaluronic acid holds up to 1,000 times its own weight in water and has proven to be a great hydrating ingredient. In order to assess the effectiveness of hyaluronic acid in this formulation, though, we would need to know its concentration. That information does not appear to be available. Other ingredients we like to see in an anti-aging formulation are collagen and peptides such as Matrixyl and Argiriline, which have been clinically proven to stimulate collagen production and tone and firm the skin. There is no indication that the Epi-Elegance Age Defying Red Tea Serum contains those ingredients.

The Bottom Line
There are many anti-aging skin care products on the market today that offer clinically-proven ingredients and stand behind their products with a money-back guarantee. Unfortunately, we can say neither for Epi-Elegance. The fact that no official website appears to be available gives us cause for concern. Although rooibos extract is a new and exciting ingredient in the anti-wrinkle arena, there simply is not enough clinical proof available to support its inclusion in an anti-aging regimen. Keep in mind that if you do decide to purchase this product and are unhappy with it, you may not be able to get your money back.
