According to the Institut Esthederm website, the Esthederm Bio Youth line includes the Absolute Serum Lift, Restructure Day and Night Cream and an Eye Contour Gel Cream. For the purpose of this review, we will take a closer look at the Absolute Serum Lift, since it promises to "instantly halt" fine lines and wrinkles. The ingredients listed for this product include milk bio-peptides, matrixyl, centella asiatica, silicon, superoxide dismutase, vitamin C derivative, apple oligonucleotides, blackberry leaf extract, vitamin E and creatine. The final ingredient listed for this serum is cellular water; an ingredient that is said to have been created by Institut Esthederm in 1999 to more closely resemble the natural water in our skin.
It is important to note that the Insitut Esthederm products are said to work by getting underneath the surface of the skin to teach this large organ to repair itself. The company refers to the skin as an ecosystem and supposedly works with the natural seasons and cycles of the skin to heal and repair it at a cellular level. While this sounds good, we are skeptical that the formula list we are looking at for the Esthederm Bio Youth serum will really deliver so much with such basic ingredients. However, we are pleased to see matrixyl in the mix, and believe this ingredient can have some effect on wrinkles – even if it is not to the degree that Institut Esthederm promises.
