Overview
Esthederm Cellular Water is a line of products offered by the Parisian company Institut Esthederm. While Parisian products may be enticing to some simply based on where they come from, we prefer to look more closely at the ingredients and formulas to determine whether the products truly are a good value for the money. The Esthederm Cellular Water line includes a spray, Cellular Water Cream, Cellular Water Gel and Cellular Water Mask. While the products are recommended for all skin types, those with oily skin may prefer the gel to the cream product.
The Institut Esthederm website is fairly comprehensive, providing plenty of information about the products. However, it does not offer consumers the option of purchasing products directly from the company, which may pose an inconvenience to many shoppers. We did find the Esthederm Cellular Water line available from a small handful of online retailers and sales points worldwide. However, those locations did not appear to include any in the United States.
Product Details
The Esthederm Cellular Water line claims to resemble the natural water in the skin more closely than any other formula for maximum hydrating potency. The purpose of the formula is to "replenish the skin's vitality", according to the company website. The ingredients for the Esthederm Cellular Water Cream include water, ATP, carnosine and mineral salts. Another online retailer who offers the Esthederm Cellular Water line for sale also states that hyaluronic acid salt is a part of the formula.
ATP is also known as adenosine triphosphate; and is an energy unit that is found in all cells. Carnosine is a peptide that has been touted as an anti-aging supplement. However, these benefits have generally been found in oral supplements and not in topical treatments for the skin. Hyaluronic acid is known as one of the most effective skin hydrators, but the best this formula can offer is hyaluronic acid salts, which may not have the same effect. All in all, we do not see anything in this formula that will have much of a positive effect on the aging process, although it may work quite well for moisturizing the skin.
The Good
- The Esthederm Cellular Water line can be found at a handful of online retailers.
- The company website offers much good information about the products.
The Bad
- We were unable to find any customer testimonials about the Esthederm Cellular Water line.
- The products are not available for sale from the company website.
- There are no proven anti-aging ingredients in the Cellular Water formula.
The Bottom Line
While many consumers may find the Esthederm Cellular Water line to be hydrating and soothing to the skin, there is nothing in the formula that leads us to believe these products will do much to diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles. There are other products out there that are more readily available and show more promising wrinkle-fighting results overall.
