The Estion line of skin care comes from Person & Covey, a company dedicated to working with the medical community to produce high quality, effective skin care products. While their primary focus has been in the area of sun protection, they also offer a product specifically designed for anti-aging. These products are available through doctors' offices, although we also found them for sale through numerous online retailers. The anti-aging product, Estion Ultimate Growth, sells for around $85 at the time of this review on some websites.

Estion Ultimate Growth claims to be able to enhance skin renewal and stimulate collagen production. Collagen is a substance that is naturally produced by the skin and lost as we age. Therefore, producing additional collagen in the middle and later years of life is a desirable function indeed. This production is often promoted through the use of peptide complexes in a skin care formula. We will look for these ingredients specifically as we go through this particular product.

In perusing this rather long formula, we do notice that there are a couple of peptide complexes in the mix. The first is myristol hexapeptide-4 and the second is myristol pentapeptide-8. While we appreciate that this formula does include peptides, we do not feel that these are the most effective choices. Acetyle hexapeptide-3, also known as argireline, and palmitoyl hexapeptide-4, also known as matrixyl, are two peptide complexes that have been proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. We also look for products that contain hyaluronic acid and collagen, since these substances work well with matrixyl and argireline for maximum benefit. Unfortunately, we do not see any of these ingredients in the Estion Ultimate Growth product.

The Bad

  • None of the proven anti-aging ingredients are found in Estion Ultimate Growth.
  • We were unable to find a money back guarantee on open containers of the product.
  • The long ingredient list makes us wonder about the effectiveness of the formula.

The Bottom Line

While the Estion Ultimate Growth product may provide some benefit and be available through doctors' offices, we don't see much in this formula to rave about. We believe consumers should look for proven ingredients like matrixyl and argireline to get the biggest bang for their skin care buck.
