Updated On:

Overview

Garnier is a well known company that is most popular for its hair care product line. The Garnier Nutritioniste UltraLift product is aimed at women who want a product that can reduce the signs of aging by tightening the skin and smoothing out wrinkles. In this review we will take a better look at the ingredients in order to determine if this product can perform the tasks that it claims it can. The claims that are being made for the Garnier UltraLift product is that it can possibly reduce wrinkles, improve firmness, and to hydrate the skin.

Product Details

Within Garnier UltraLift skincare line there appear to be many products that are marketed as anti-aging products. This line includes the Daily Targeted Deep Wrinkle Treatment, the Anti-Wrinkle Firming Moisture Cream SPF 15, the Glow Anti-Wrinkle Firming Moisture Cream SPF 15, the Anti-Wrinkle Firming Moisture Cream and the Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream.

The claims that are being made for these Garnier products are that they can possibly reduce wrinkles, improve firmness, and to hydrate the skin. Can these products really deliver these claims? We are going to try to find out.

As far as ingredients go, all of the above products seem to contain either one or more of the following: Glyco-Nutrient Complex, Vitamin A, Omega 3+6. Vitamin A, Omega 3+6 and Rice Protein. Glyco-Nutrient Complex is said to encourage cell turnover, strengthen skin’s barrier function, and increase firmness and skin density. The source says that this ingredient is necessary for the synthesis of Glycoproteins. Vitamin A is also known as Retinol, which is usually used in the production of acne products. This is supposed to remove the top layer of skin so it can reveal the new underneath, but it is also a known irritant. Omega 3+6 helps is said to help improve the condition of poor and dry skin by hydrating it and giving it a nice glowing look. It is said to be useful in treating various skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, itching, redness of skin, skin lesions, and rashes. Last, but not least is the Rice Protein. A few sources that were found claim that this ingredient helps to improve the skins elasticity, It is claimed that it forms a non-tacky film which helps to minimize roughness and wrinkles, to form a protective barrier on the skin, plumps out the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and that it is a good hypoallergenic ingredient that won't irritate the skin.

The Good

  • Garnier UltraLift products appear to contain good nutrients.
  • Good claims are made about the ingredients.

The Bad

  • Does not contain any patented or proven ingredients
  • Claims to contain no irritants, but Retinol was found
  • Company is better known for hair care than for skincare products.

The Bottom Line

It is hard to determine whether or not this would be an effective product. There is information all over the web that actually supports the idea of these ingredients being effective in fighting the appearance of wrinkles, but there are no clinical trials or scientific studies that were found to support Garnier Ultra Lift’s claims. It also has one ingredient that raises concern, and that is the Retinol, which is a known irritant if overapplied. There appears to be no free samples or money-back guarantees at this time, so it would have to be left up to the consumer to determine whether or not these products would be worth trying.
