Gerovital Review

Updated On:

Overview

Gerovital is pharmaceutical product which has aroused more controversy than any other cosmetic or skincare product. The Cosmetic Company that first developed Gerovital and related products was founded in Rumania by an unorthodox physician named Dr. Aslant. The Gerovital line of products was developed from vegetable oil extracted from plants found in the Rumanian country side. The company has been in existence since the 1960s and has heavily marketed its products to US clients. Among the famous personalities that have used Gerovital based products are legendary names like JFK, Marlene Dietrich and Kirk Douglas.

Dr Aslant, the founder of this product line, became an international celebrity and continued to promote her products with far reaching claims. Initially these formulations were marketed for boosting energy and revitalizing the body. Soon she claimed that Gerovital products improved memory, reversed aging and cured almost every type of medical disorder that exists. Dr. Aslant provided anecdotal reports of reversing strokes, Parkinson’s disease and brain injury with the use of her products. Later Gerovital was analyzed in the USA and found to contain procaine, a local anesthetic. Since all drug formulations have to undergo FDA approval, Dr Aslant now claimed that her product was a nutrient and a health supplement. Dr Aslant claimed that if one took Gerovital every day, it would restore youth, boost energy and make you look young. It was also claimed that Gerovital would lead to regeneration of newer skin and other tissues that would help you live a longer and a more healthy life.

A few side effects of Gerovital include renal failure allergies and development of low blood pressure. Currently the FDA ban covers all Gerovital products containing procaine sold in America, which includes online sales.

  • Numerous side effects.
  • Many counterfeit formulations are sold online.
  • No prices listed.
  • Banned in the US.

The Bottom line

There is a lot written about Gerovital and the issues are clouded by so many websites selling Gerovital-like formulations. In North America, Gerovital is looked up as outright fraudulent therapy. In Europe there are some die hard individuals who believe that this is a miracle product. The scientific evidence indicates that Gerovital is junk and has no medicinal or therapeutic value. To all consumers who may want to try Gerovital out of interest, a word of warning: The majority of Gerovital available out there in the health stores and cyberspace is fake. Countless fake and counterfeit products have been identified over the past 2 decades. And many of these have been found to contain a lot of artificial chemicals that can definitely be toxic. So in the end, Gerovital is the same old story: “Buyer Beware.”
