GloTherapeutics GloRenew Review

Updated On:

Overview

GloRenew Serum made by GloTherapeutics is being sold as an anti-aging formula. The serum is said to contain hydroxy acids and retinol. This combination is said to remove all the superficial skin and debris, open pores and regenerate new skin that is vibrant, smooth and soft. The other additional ingredients in GloRenew serum include a number of anti-bacterial agents that help kill skin bacteria and relieve acne-like conditions. The manufacturer claims that regular use of this GloRenew Serum can lead to a skin tone that is young, smooth and wrinkle free.

Because of the presence of glycolic and salicylic avid, this serum is not for daily use. Daily use can cause severe dryness and a possible skin rash. The manufacturer recommends using the GloRenew Serum 2 times per week. The presence of glycolic acid means that the product has to be tested for allergies. Those individuals who develop redness or irritation after application of a drop of the serum should refrain from using it.

Product Details

GloRenew Serum contains: Aqua (Distilled Water), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Ethanol, Glycerin, Glycolic Acid Salicylic Acid, Retinol, Hydrolyzed Yeast Protein, Pyridoxine, Totarol™, Niacinamide, D-Panthenol, Allantoin, D-biotin, Xanthan Gum, Phyllantus Emblica (Amla) Fruit Extract, L-carnosine, Spin Trap (Phenyl Butyl Nitrone), Dehydroacetic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Benzoic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Benzethonium Chloride, Fragrance Oils.

The ingredients break down roughly as follows: Glycolic acid (7%) acts like a peeling agent and helps rejuvenate the skin. Salicylic acid helps to fight acne and reduce the inflammation. Salicylic is also a mild peeling agent. Retinol acts like a peeling agent, removes dead skin, opens pores and is an effective anti acne agent also. Hydrolyzed yeast protein is said to reduce excess oil secretion from the skin pores. Pyridoxine is a vitamin substrate which functions like an anti oxidant. Totarol is a botanical extract from an Australian tree and works like an anti oxidant. Panthenol acts like an anti inflammatory agent and is also known to stimulate synthesis of collagen.

The Good

  • Contains retinol ad glycolic acid.
  • Available online.
  • Decent price.

The Bad

  • Does contain a number of synthetic chemicals.
  • Contains artificial fragrances.
  • No evidence of a full return policy.

The Bottom Line

GloRenew Serum is a decent peeling agent. The presence of retinol and glycolic acid can help repair some of the minor skin imperfections. However, the product does contain a fair number of synthetic chemicals and the chances of one developing an allergic reaction with time are high. GloRenew Serum is readily available online and is sold at a decent price. The ingredients are not special and we doubt that the serum has any anti-aging properties. In essence, the formula acts like a basic peeling agent, so it could yield some skin tone benefits. The majority of peeling agents in use today can only erase very fine lines and mild acne scars. Of course peeling agents in higher concentrations can remove much deeper skin discolorations but the chances of developing side effects are also high. For the price, GloRenew Serum is a decent home care peeling agent which can make the skin look smooth, soft and younger looking.
