High Intensity Pigments Review

Updated On:

Overview

L’Oreal is a well known French cosmetic and beauty firm that has a global reputation. Over the years, L’Oreal has developed excellent skincare and other cosmetic products that are affordable and effective. Now the same company has released a whole new brand of High Intensity Pigment (HIP) products designed to fight aging. These high intensity pigment formulations are designed for both men and women. There are countless High Intensity Pigment products made by L’Oreal. Some are made for use around the eyes, others around the neck, face and upper arms. With all these products, it is claimed that regular use of these creams can result in reversal of aging. Some of the products will eliminate sagging skin and plump up the lips. Others will maintain hydration without causing greasiness.

There are also a variety of Age Perfect offered creams which, if used for 4 weeks, can result in a skin that is young and wrinkle free. One simply has to massage the creams into the skin just before bedtime and you will wake up looking like a princess in the morning. Besides the anti-aging products, L’Oreal also has some great anti-acne products and mascara that contains High Intensity Pigments. The HIP mascara is said make your eye lashes look “enticing and inviting.” Special pigments are claimed to cause an “intense” look. These mascaras are suitable for sensitive eyes and users of contact lenses.

Product Details

Unfortunately, L’Oreal does not list all of the ingredients for the High Intensity Pigment products on its website. But it does mention that anyone interested, can write to the company in France.

The 3 major ingredients found included the following: Among the most unusual was Boswelox. Boswelox is an innovative phyto complex extracted from the boswellia plant native to India. It also contains a high concentration of manganese. This extract is said to smoothen out lines, make facial muscle taut and erase wrinkles. The manganese is said to help in the generation of new skin layers which help restore elasticity and brightness.

Some of the products do contain Hyaluronic acid. Proxylane, extracted from the beech wood plant using ecofriendly techniques, is also listed as an ingredient in some formulations. It is claimed that this extract has anti-aging properties.

The Good

  • Well known brand name.
  • Extensive range of products.
  • Good section on skincare FAQs.

The Bad

  • Ingredient list not providedm but available if requested.
  • Little is known about the activeingredient Boswelox.
  • Manufacturer support policies such as return policies are not made very clear.
  • Products act more as makeup concealers than as wrinkle fighting treatments.

The Bottom Line

L’Oreal has a global reputation and has been in the business of cosmetics far longer than many other firms. This latest brand of High Intensity Pigment formulations designed to fight off aging are touted to be some of the best products on the market. L’Oreal unfortunately does not list all ingredients on the website but does say that one can order a printout if they wish to know. The two products listed on the website include Boswelox and Beech wood extracts. Searching for benefits of Boswelox and beech wood extracts on the Net proved to be a futile exercise. L’Oreal does say that these ingredients have very potent anti-aging effects and can erase signs of aging. Well, there is no scientific study or even a mention of any reports on these two products. Now to the positive, I should add the products are quite cheap (under $20 in most cases).
