Hydrovitoin Face Cleaner Review

Updated On:

Overview

Hydrovitoin Face Cleanser is marketed as a deep cleanser and exfoliant. We were unable to locate an official company website, and the product appears to be available at a very limited number of online retailers. It is troubling when a company does not back up its product with an official online presence. The only information on Hydrovitoin available appears on the retailers’ websites.

The information on the retailers’ websites includes claims that Hydrovitoin is a revolutionary new cleanser that provides startling results by transforming the skin. The product is marketed for all skin types, but especially for those with acne and rosacea. Hydrovitoin also claims to balance the natural pH of the skin and to be hypoallergenic, a claim that puzzles us due to one of its ingredients. Because Hydrovitoin is not apparently available through the manufacturer, there does not appear to be a satisfaction guarantee offered. Product samples also do not appear to be available to allow new users to try the product before purchase. These issues are concerning as Hydrovitoin retails for around $33-49 per tube, which is expensive compared to many of its competitors.

Product Details

According to the retailers’ websites, the ingredients in Hydrovitoin are: Deionised Water, Sodium Lauryl, Ether Sulphate, Cocoamidopropyl Betaine, Polysorbate 20, Cocamide DEA, Propyleneglycol, Chamomile Extract, Rosemary Extract, Hidroviton, Sodium Citrate, Methyl Paraben, EDTA and Fragrance.

None of these ingredients are particularly exciting or new in skin care products- certainly nothing appears able to produce the “startling” results claimed. However, there are ingredients in Hydrovitoin that concern us, especially when the company claims that the product is hypoallergenic. EDTA is a stabilizer sometimes used in creams and ointments. EDTA is also a known allergen and many people do react to it by breaking out into a puffy rash. Methyl paraben is a cosmetic preservative that is also a known allergen. The term “fragrance” could mean anything and may include allergenic ingredients. Those with skin allergies and sensitivities may want to exercise caution with this product until you know how it will react with your particular skin type.

The Good

  • Available online.
  • May contain ingredients that adequately cleanse the skin.

The Bad

  • Contains known allergens.
  • No money-back guarantee found.
  • May not contain effective skin softening ingredients like collagen and Argiriline.

The Bottom Line

Hydrovitoin Face Cleanser is one of thousands of skin cleansers on the market. There is nothing in its formulation that appears to produce the claimed results. The fact that the manufacturer does not maintain a web presence suggests that they may not stand behind their product. The lack of a money-back guarantee supports this conclusion. Hydrovitoin is an expensive cleanser compared to many of its competitors and you may wish to research other products with clinically-proven ingredients, and that also have a manufacturer that believes in and backs up its products.
