InstA-tox bills itself as an instant wrinkle smoothing serum. InstA-tox is most often found on HSN- the Home Shopping Network. As at the time of this review, there does not appear to be an official company website. Therefore, our information will be assessed from the HSN and other online retailers’ websites. InstA-tox takes a different approach to wrinkles than most anti-aging product manufacturers. InstA-tox doesn’t claim to erase wrinkles, it just fills them in, much like spackle fills in small crack in a plaster wall. According to the HSN website, the ingredients in InstA-tox are: Water, Sodium Silicate, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Magnesium Aspartate, Zinc Gluconate, Copper Gluconate, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Iron Oxides, Propylene Glycol, Retinyl Palmitate, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben and Propylparaben. There are no active ingredients in this formulation that really stand out and set this product apart from its competitors. Retinyl Palmitate is an animal-sourced form of Vitamin A. The benefits of taking Vitamin A orally are well-researched and documented, but the benefits of applying it topically are less clear. Vitamin A also can cause photo sensitivity so be sure to wear a sunscreen on top of this product.

The most disappointing ingredients are methylparaben and propylparaben. Parabens are cosmetic preservatives that are also known allergens. Many high-quality skin care formulations exclude these ingredients because of that.
