Overview
Institut’ DERMed produces an extensive line of skin care products. According to the company’s website, they offer the highest level of active ingredients without a prescription. The Institut’ DERMed product lines are: Aging, Lightening, Sensitive, Acne, All & Body, and Cellulite Rx. We will focus on the Aging line for the purposes of this review. There are 10 cleansers, creams and serums in the Institut’ DERMed Aging line. With that many different formulations, consumers may find it confusing to choose the one that is right for their skin. All of the products are available for purchase directly on the company’s website.
Each product has a very brief description of what it is supposed to do and what the main active ingredients are. There does not appear to be a full product list available, which is problematic for those who have skin allergies and sensitivities. It also makes it difficult to evaluate the company’s claim that all products have high levels of the active ingredients. Lower-quality skin care products often contain cheaper ingredients or “fillers” to bring down the cost of the product. Institut’ DERMed products may or may not contain any of these ingredients. Institut’ DERMed offers a money-back guarantee on all of its skin care products. However, the guarantee only lasts for 10 days after receipt of order and is subject to a 15% restocking fee.
Product Details
There is very little information provided by Institut’ DERMed about its products. No full ingredient list appears to be available which means that the products may or may not contain undisclosed allergens. We will take a look at some of the Aging products to see what the company does say about it. The Anti-Oxidant Rich Cream claims to contain Black Tundra extract as a source of antioxidants. There is no explanation as to what this ingredient is and no links to clinical studies supporting its effectiveness. Black Tundra may be a plant similar to moss, however, there appears to be little information available about its use as an antioxidant. Common effective antioxidants are Vitamin C and green tea extract. There is no indication that these ingredients are included in this product.
The Instant Radiance Serum does contain green tea extract as its main active ingredient. Institut’ DERMed claims that this product lifts and refines skin. State-of-the-art skin care treatments focused on skin rejuvenation contain clinically-proven ingredients like hyaluronic acid, collagen, and peptides such as Matrixyl 3000 and Argiriline. These leading ingredients do not appear to be in the Instant Radiance Serum.

The Bottom Line
Like many skin care product companies, Institut’ DERMed makes fantastic claims without being able to deliver proof. It does the consumer no good to hear that the products have very high levels of the active ingredients without disclosing what those concentrations are or, in some cases, even what those ingredients are. There are many choices available when seeking out antiaging skin care products. The best products will contain clinically-proven ingredients like collagen, and peptides like Matrixyl 3000 and Argiriline. You may wish to investigate other products before settling on this one. Keep in mind that if you purchase the Institut’ DERMed products and are not happy with them, you may have to pay for return shipping and a restocking fee.
