Overview
SkinTensive xCell is another anti-aging serum from the well-known brand iQ Derma. The company claims that this serum will reduce the signs of wrinkles, age spots and deep pores, renew the skin’s surface, and protect against future wrinkles. We will look into whether the product contains the ingredients to be able to carry out those promises in the next section.
iQ Derma SkinTensive xCell can be purchased on the company’s website but only after a madatory 30-day “free trial”. The customer must pay the $3.95 shipping fee and the product is sent out. If you do not like the product after 30 days, you are required to ship it back in order to not be billed for it. You are also responsible for paying return shipping. It is a clever marketing ploy, since we bet that many users won’t bother to send it back regardless of what they thought of the product. The actual price does not appear on the website which makes it difficult to assess whether the consumer is getting value for money.
Product Details
We must say that we are impressed with some of the active ingredients in iQ Derma SkinTensive xCell. Matrixyl 3000 is a peptide that has been clinically-proven to help the skin increase collagen production and to reduce wrinkles. Argiriline is another peptide that penetrates to the facial muscles and relaxes them, thereby smoothing the skin's surface. Also included is hyaluronic acid, a substance that helps desert plants retain moisture during times of drought.
SkinTensive xCell also contains marine collagen. Although we like to see anti-wrinkle products containing collagen, this source may not be the best for its effectiveness at penetrating the skin and getting the job done. With all of these great ingredients included, there are two things that give us pause about this product. The first is that there is no detail provided about the concentrations of each active ingredient. Without that, it is difficult to truly analyze whether the product might be able to do what it says it can do. Also, there is no full list of ingredients provided. Not only does that make it difficult for those with skin allergies and sensitivities to determine if the product is right for them, but it makes it impossible to review whether it contains any low-quality “filler” ingredients like artificial scents or thickeners.
The Good
- Contains proven active ingredients.
- Free 30-day trial offered.
- Before and after pictures, along with clinical studies, are available.
The Bad
- No full ingredient list is provided.
- Cannot determine the cost of the product until you take the 30-day trial.
- Not labeled as non-allergenic.
- Concentrations of active ingredients are not listed.
The Bottom Line
iQ Derma SkinTensive xCell is a very intriguing skin care serum at first glance. It contains many of the proven anti-wrinkle ingredients we like to see. However, it is difficult to recommend a product when a full ingredient list is not available. Those with allergies will want to exercise much caution if you want to use this product. The good news is that there are products on the market that have the same great ingredients, but whose manufacturers are confident enough ito list all of what goes into their product. It is also important to know for certain how much a particular skin care product will cost before committing to it. It's best to compare prices with those of rival products that contain the same ingredients in order to truly come up with a winner.
