Overview
Liftpelle is a line of skin care products made by the Canadian cosmetic company O’Derme. The Liftpelle products are formulated for mature skin, with its dual problems of wrinkles and sagging skin. Liftpelle recommends using several of its products in a “Liftpelle Programme”. This can make the cost of your skin care go up significantly. We like many things about the Liftpelle website. There is a significant section discussing the causes of wrinkles and sagging skin and how the Liftpelle products help. Each product is described thoroughly and is accompanied by a list of ingredients along with the concentrations of the active ingredients. This is important information to allow the consumer to determine whether the products are likely to live up to the hype.
The Liftpelle products cannot be ordered directly on the website but customers can call in orders. Oddly, there are no prices on the Liftpelle website. Liftpelle products can be returned to the manufacturer only within one week of purchase, which gives the customer very little time to see if the products are working as claimed.
Product Details
There are several products in the Liftpelle line. The include: Occhi Palpebral Pack, Flash Effect Serum, Phytostimulants Programme, Around Eyes Fluid, Trentadi Serum, Vitality Cream, and Bioactive Mask. With this many products to choose from, it can be a daunting task to choose the one (or ones) that may be right for your particular skin. The Liftpelle Vitality Cream is one of the best-selling products so let’s have a closer look at it. The cream claims to restore elasticity, fight cutaneous oxidizing processes, regenerate and brighten the skin, and mask skin defects with reflective particles.
The ingredient list for the Liftpelle Vitality Cream includes: vegetal placenta 5%, saccharides compound 3%, hyaluronic acid .02%, Vitamin C 3%, Vitamin E 1%, Vitamin A .01%, and Betaglucan .01%. As said earlier, we very much like that the company lists the concentrations of ingredients. As for the ingredients themselves, it is nice to see hyaluronic acid in the formulation. Hyaluronic acid can hold over 1,000 times its own weight in water and is clinically-proven to deeply hydrate the skin. Very little research has been done on vegetal placenta and its effects on the skin. Liftpelle provides no information on its website to support this ingredients effectiveness. Vitamins C, E, and A are common in many skin care products and appear to provide some benefits to the skin although, again, there is little research on the benefits of Vitamin A (retinol) being applied topically.
It is unclear if this ingredient list is inclusive or not. Those with skin allergies and sensitivities may wish to be certain that there are no other potentially allergenic ingredients included before using.
The Good
- Informative website.
- Concentrations of active ingredients are included.
- May contain some ingredients which may have a beneficial effect on the skin.
The Bad
- May not contain clinically-proven ingredients like collagen and Argiriline.
- Restrictive money-back guarantee.
- Cannot be ordered directly from the website.
- No links to clinical studies supporting the effectiveness of the ingredients or the product itself.
The Bottom Line
There are literally thousands of anti-wrinkle products on the market today. Many claim to provide fantastic results, but unfortunately, not many actually live up to their claims. There is nothing in the formulation of Liftpelle that particularly excites us or makes us believe that it can do all it says it can do. Those seeking an effective anti-wrinkle or anti-aging product should look for ingredients like collagen to replenish the body’s dwindling supply and peptides like Matrixyl 3000 and Argiriline that deeply penetrate the skin and smooth wrinkles.
