While we like the fact that full ingredient lists are provided on the Linda Sy website, some of those actual ingredients concern us. Many of the formulations are based on vitamins such as A, C, and E. These vitamins are commonly found in skin care preparations and may or may not be effective depending on the exact formulation. Vitamin A (as retinol) does have research behind it to show its restorative effects on the body, including the skin. Most of this research, however, is based on Vitamin E taken orally, not applied topically. The effectiveness of Vitamin E applied to the face is still in question. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant but it is unstable in solutions unless it is encapsulated until use. Many higher-quality skin care products exclude parabens because of their allergenic properties. Some of the Linda Sy products also contain synthetic colorings, like FD&C Yellow 5, Red 40 and Blue 1. These ingredients can also trigger allergies. Those with known skin allergies or sensitivities may wish to review the ingredient lists with their doctor or dermatologist before trying these products.
