Overview
Liv-Agen Skin Care is a line of salon-quality products including hydrating products, purifying products, rejuvenating products and special skin care products. At the time of this review, we were unable to locate an official company website, but we were able to find information from one of the products’ distributor websites. We will take a closer look at the hydrating group of products. There are cleansers, toners, masks, and creams in the line. The website provides a brief description of each product, its active ingredients and their claimed benefits. Most of the products claim to stimulate cellular renewal, and we will assess the ingredients in the next section to see if the Liv-Agen Skin Care products might be able to live up to their claims.
The Liv-Agen Skin Care products are available online through distributors but not directly through the manufacturer. There is no indication of a satisfaction guarantee for customers, or of any product samples being available. We like to see both of those features in a skin care company. Product samples allow the customer to try out the product before purchasing to make sure it is right for them, and a money-back guarantee gives the customer confidence that if they are unhappy with the product after a number of days, they can return it and get their money back.There also do not appear to be any references to clinical studies supporting the effectiveness of any of the Liv-Agen Skin Care products.
Product Details
No full ingredient lists appear to be available for the Liv-Agen Skin Care products. While each formulation is different, most of the products appear to be based on Vitamins A, C, and E and on fruit acids. Vitamin E has been shown to be an effective hydrator and softener. Vitamin C can be a very powerful antioxidant if formulated correctly. There is no information on the website about how Vitamin C is incorporated into the products so it may or may not be effective. There is little research available on the benefits of applying Vitamin A topically to the skin. The jury is still out on how beneficial it is. Fruit acids are frequently used as peels to slough off the dead outer cells to reveal the healthy ones below. Fruit acids can be irritating to some skin types, so those with sensitivities may want to exercise caution when trying this product.
What we find disappointing about the Liv-Agen products is what does not appear to be in the formulations. What we look for is the presence of clinically-proven ingredients that hydrate the skin, stimulate collagen production and smooth wrinkles. Ingredients like hyaluronic acid, and peptides like Matrixyl 3000 and Argiriline work together to fight the signs of aging and protect the skin against environmental damage. These ingredients do not appear to be included in the Liv-Agen products.

The Bottom Line
There is nothing that we can see in the Liv-Agen Skin Care line that leads us to believe the products are any different than hundreds of other middle-of-the-pack skin care lines. We like that they include some vitamins but they also appear to be lacking some ingredients that we find essential in an effective skin care regimen. Those seeking dramatic anti-aging results may wish to keep looking.
