Lubriderm Anti Wrinkle Review

On this website critics examine a number of popular health and beauty products available on the market today. The information presented on the site about each of the products assessed has been obtained from publicly available sources. Those critics and this web site are sponsored by Rauscher | Bekke, manufacturers of Dermapril-SP. The information on this website is intended to inform and educate consumers.

Overview

The product Lubriderm Anti-Wrinkle Facial Lotion has been discontinued by the product manufacturers. However, Lubriderm Anti-Wrinkle Facial Lotion is still available from numerous online retailers so we will discuss it briefly here for the benefit of our readers. Lubriderm Anti-Wrinkle Facial Lotion was developed by the big name manufacturer Lubriderm, which is itself a division of the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer. This Anti-Wrinkle Lotion seems to have been the manufacturer’s one and only go at an anti-aging product, and there is little information on why it was discontinued. Since we could find no official product recalls or warnings, it’s pretty safe to assume its production stopped because the product just never took off.

Lubriderm Anti-Wrinkle Facial Lotion claimed to keep older skin well moisturized. It also claimed to reduce fine lines through skin hydration, and to offer protection from UV rays and other harmful environmental factors. In fact, the product’s main active ingredients all supported its sunscreen properties, with other ingredients working to aid with skin moisturization.

Product Details

The full list of ingredients found in Lubriderm Anti-Wrinkle Facial Lotion is as follows: Octyl Methoxycinnamate (7.5%), Oxybenzone (5%). Inactive Ingredients: Purified Water, Corn Starch, Diisopropyl Adipate, Propylene Glycol, Gluconolactone, Octyldodecanol, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Glyceryl Stearate, Isohexyl Caprate, Glycerin, Emulsifying Wax, Cyclomethicone, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, PEG-100 Stearate, Ceteth-20, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Dimethicone, Xanthan Gum, Diazolidinyl Urea, Disodium EDTA, Ammonium Hydroxide, Arginine, and Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate.

Oxybenzone and Octyl Methoxycinnamate are both sunscreen ingredients, again implying that this formulation relies heavily on blocking out free radicals to prevent further skin damage. It is questionable how effective Lubriderm Anti Wrinkle Lotion would be at treating pre-existing skin damage, although moisturizers would help to some degree.

This product is intended to be used twice daily, during mornings and evenings. An extra dose can be applied if a user knows that they are going to be encountering prolonged sun exposure.

The Good

  • Product contains moisturizers.
  • Product contains high concentrations of sunscreen to block out UV rays.

The Bad

  • Product is no longer officially on the market, nor is it still in production from Pfizer.
  • No free sample available.
  • No trial offer available.
  • No formula development or consumer testing info available.

The Bottom Line

Obviously, it is impossible for us to recommend a product that is no longer in production from the manufacturer. Hypothetically speaking, if Lubriderm Anti-Wrinkle Facial Lotion was still available, how great would it be? Well, we certainly endorse products that aim to protect against UV rays—this can be crucial when it comes to maintaining healthy skin. Also, keeping skin well moisturized is a basic tenet of skin care. Unfortunately, the makers of Lubriderm Anti-Wrinkle Facial Lotion do not appear to have included any unique patented ingredients to raise this product to the level of other dedicated anti-wrinkle products. Basically, it looks like it would have been a decent general-purpose skin cream, but users hoping for wrinkle miracles would probably have had to keep looking.
