Product Details
Pentapeptides are, of course, an extremely common ingredient in many of the more cutting edge anti-aging and skin rejuvenating creams for sale today. The particular pentapeptide that is in Matryxil is claimed by those who manufacturer it and by those who sell face creams that include it in their ingredient lists to be different from other pentapeptides. They claim that anti-aging products that include Matryxil in their formulation will repair and rejuvenate the skin by stimulating collagen and elasticin. They also say that this will lead to reduced wrinkles, lines and age spots on the face, and also make the skin firmer.
The manufacturers state that the ingredient Matryxil is different from other pentapeptides. With Matryxil, they say, they have managed to capture the pentapeptide that is actually responsible for triggering collagen production. They also claim that Matryxil is as effective as retinol but without the side effect of skin dryness. The manufacturers say that researchers found that when Matryxil was added to key skin cells the production of collagen was increased.
The Good
- Anti-aging skin products containing Matryxil are available for purchase online.
- The manufacturers of Matryxil tell us that there are no side effects related to this product.
- Information regarding Matryxil is available on the internet.
The Bad
- There are a whole host of other anti-aging skin creams available which contain pentapeptides.
- Much of the published research of Matryxil has been carried out by Proctor and Gamble which is the manufacturer of Matryxil.
- The research carried out has been ‘test tube research,’ rather than long term controlled clinical trials on humans.
- It is easy for users to mistake the peptide Matryxil for the more potent peptide Matryxil 3000.
The Bottom Line
On the face of it the research presented regarding the compound Palmitoyl-pentapeptide 4 which is present in Matryxil would seem to give hope to those searching for an anti-aging cream that really works. The problem at the moment is that there have been no long term clinical trials on human beings. The results that are achieved in a laboratory and scientific test tube context are not always the same results when the trials are carried out on real human beings living their daily lives. We do think that there may be something in Matryxil that is a bit special, but we would like to see the results of long-term clinical trials on human skin.
