Overview
Molton Brown London is a company based out of London that began in 1973. There is also a United States branch that is based out of New York, New York. One of their products that are available through the Molton Brown skin care line is Recover Eyes Firmlift. The company claims that this product can help drastically improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes and on the bridge of your nose. We are going to look at this product with a little more depth in order to determine whether or not the claims made by the company about this product are true.
Product Details
Recovery Eyes Firmlift is a product that is used at night as an anti-wrinkle agent, designed to attack the signs of aging while you sleep so you can wake up beautiful in the morning with no extra effort. It is designed to be used mainly around the eyes and around the bridge of the nose. When continuously applied it may reduce deep wrinkles by 68%. The two main ingredients, as stated by the website that are included in the makeup of this product are Matrixyl and a “light diffusing complex.” Matrixyl is a well-known, patented ingredient that is available in a lot of the newest anti-wrinkle agents. What is Matrixyl? It contains 5 amino acids linked together and attached to a fatty acid to improve oil solubility for the achievement of better skin penetration. We are not sure about what the light diffusing complex consists of due to the vagueness of the company's description on their website of this particular ingredient.
The Good
- Appears to be designed for convenience by only having to apply it at night before bedtime.
- Contains Matrixyl, which is a patented anti-wrinkle ingredient.
- The Molton Brown website includes tips on how to use the product.
The Bad
- No money-back guarantee or free trial offered.
- Does not disclose all of the ingredients contained in the product.
- The Molton Brown website is not direct about what the purpose of the light diffusing complex is or what it is made up of.
The Bottom Line
The good thing about this product is that it actually contains Matrixyl, a patented complex used in many anti-wrinkle agents. It is also very convenient to use because you only have to apply it before bedtime and it does not appear to have to be on a specific time regimen. However, the ingredient referred to by Molton Brown as “light diffusing complex” makes us wonder if this isn’t more of a makeup concealer than a wrinkle eraser. And if the Matrixyl actually delivers what the company says it does, then why would there even be a need for a light diffusing complex? You will have to decide for yourselves what the truth is behind this matter. Furthermore, the pricing appears to be fair at first, and then ridiculously priced shipping makes it a lot less cost efficient. It is hard to determine based on the available information if this product would be worth trying.
