Overview
The first Nivea Cream was produced in 1911 after the development of the product “Eucerit”. This was considered to me a revolutionary emulsifier which made it possible to add an active ingredient to fat and water to provide a stable base for a variety of ointments. Dr. Oscar Troplowitz of the Beiersdorf Company used Eucerit for medical purposes, and later as a base for a cosmetic cream: Nivea Cream. Nivea is a derivative of “niveus” which is, according to Nivea’s website, a Latin word meaning “snow white”. Fast forward to the year 1988, Nivea has produced an anti-wrinkle product called Nivea Visage Cream with Q10. Co-enzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like structure which plays an important part in the production of human body cells. Nivea claims to be the first to offer an anti-wrinkle formula containing the Q10 enzyme.
Product Details
Nivea claims that with regular daily use, Nivea Visage Cream will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles within just four weeks of use. Nivea Visage Cream is targeted for the eye area. The full list of ingredients is not disclosed on the official product website. The only ingredient mentioned is the Q10 energy complex with coenzyme Q10 which was developed to help fight new and existing wrinkles primarily around the eyes. Coenzyme Q10 is essential for energy production and is found naturally in plants and animals. The main sources used to extract Coenzyme 10 are soy, wheat germ, broccoli, spinach, vegetable oils, meats, fish, rice bran and grapeseed oil. Nivea does not make its products available to consumers on the official website; however the products can be purchased through online retailers and department stores all over the world.
The Good
- Nivea Visage Cream is fairly inexpensive compared to other anti-aging products.

The Bad
- Nivea Visage Cream cannot be purchased from the official website.
- Nivea Visage Cream does not appear to contain powerful ingredients such as Argireline, Hyaluronic Acid, or Matrixyl-3000.
- No testimonials are published on the Nivea website about their Visage Cream.
- No free trial is available for consumers from Nivea’s website and it does not appear that Nivea offers a money back guarantee.
The Bottom Line
Some consumers will want to try Nivea Visage Cream due to its presence in the beauty isle at their local drugstore and supermarkets and the promises that the company makes about the product. The cream is relatively inexpensive and affordable for most people so it is not a huge investment to make if you are curious to find out whether or not it will work for you. Without the full list of ingredients, it is unknown if Nivea Visage Cream contains advanced ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Matrixyl 3000 and Real Collagen but it is unlikely. The brands that include these key elements, in general advertise the ingredients as being a part of their formulas. This does not seem to be the case here. When researching the latest technological advances in anti-aging products, choose the ones that have no problem disclosing the full list of ingredients. This will ensure a more informed buying experience and help you achieve the most desirable results.
