Overview
Lancôme claims that Renergie Microlift is an advanced anti-aging moisturizing skin care product that uses their own new technique, which they call R.A.R.E. This skin care technology is said to have a re-bondling and repositioning effect on skin cells. Lancôme says the Renergie cream has the ability to double the protein links in order to rebundle the collagen found in the skin. By doing this the skin is said to become more firm and lifted. This should help to smooth the wrinkles on the face and neck, producing smoother and younger looking skin. With so many different products on the market that are said to reduce the signs of wrinkles and fine lines on the skin, we will go into further detail on this product and why it is or is not a good buy.
Product Details
When looking to buy a product, it is best to look at the list of ingredients. Unfortunately, at the time this review was written the official Lancôme website did not have the complete ingredients listed in detail for the Renergie Microlift cream. When this happens, it is normally seen as a bad sign that the manufacturer is failing to disclose information on a product, because it typically means the product does not contain advanced ingredients. As there is little information available regarding Renergie, one is not able to clearly deduce how well the product will work on their skin to reduce the signs of aging. One of the main product ingredients listed is called Oligopeptide, but it does not appear that Lancôme Renergie Microlift contains the best ingredients on the market including Argireline, Matrixyl-3000, or Hyaluronic Acid.
The Good
- Renergie Microlift contains sunscreen of SPF 15 which is important in any anti-aging skin care regimen.
- The patented formula is designed to work on all skin types.
The Bad
- The effects of the Renergie Microlift take about 4 weeks to be seen on the face and neck.
- Very expensive product. 1.7 ounce jar of Renergie Microlift starts at $80 and the larger jar, 2.5 ounces is $95 which may not be affordable for the average consumer.
- Lancôme does not provide customer testimonials or before & after photos to substantiate claims about the product.
- At the time of this review, we were unable to locate information about Lancôme’s clinical trials or scientific research.
The Bottom Line
As there is a lack of information that is available about Renergie Microlift and its ingredients, we are unable to provide any positive feedback on the product and whether or not we would recommend it. If the manufacturers truly wanted to market this product, then they would at least tell whether this cream has such key anti-aging ingredients as Matrixyl 3000 or Hyaluronic Acid. As neither of these key ingredients is mentioned, we would have to recommend going with another product when trying to smooth the skin and decrease other signs of aging. Many consumers may try Renergie Microlift because of the brand name, but consumers should also look at the ingredients in any cream before making a purchase decision in order to end up with a product that will produce the desired results and to see if there are potential allergens.
