Revitol Review

Updated On:

Overview

Revitol manufactures and distributes a wide variety of products. From anti-aging to acne control, you're likely to find a product in the area you are looking. While this company has a range of products to distribute, we are focusing primarily on the anti-aging skin line that they have available.

Product Details

The anti-aging skin line is branded as the Anti-Aging Solution Kit.

This line consists of three products:

  • Anti-Wrinkle Complex
  • Anti-Wrinkle Serum
  • Moisturizing Cream

The Anti-Wrinkle Complex is made up of:

  • Active Ingredient: Idebenone.
  • Proprietary Blend: DMAE, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Dermox™ SRC, LipoLight™ OAP, Skin Tightener ST®.
  • Other Ingredients: Purified water, glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Lanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea.

Idebenone is an organic compound of the quinone family. It is promoted synthetically as CoQ10.

The Anti-Wrinkle Serum is made up of:

  • Active Ingredient: Argireline.
  • Proprietary Blend: Matrixyl®, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Wheat Gluten and Ceratonia siliqua, Macrocystis pyrifera, Edelweis Extract, Skin Tightener ST®, Pentacare NA ®.
  • Other Ingredients: Purified water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Cyclomethicon and Dimethiconol, Dimethicone Copolyol, Cyclomethicone, Carbomer, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Mica, Lanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Diazolidinyl Urea, Sodium Chloride, Polysorbate 20, Matracaria Extract.

Argireline is also known as Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, which is a peptide believed to be involved in the freezing of facial muscles by inhibiting the responses of neurotransmitters under the skin. The result is claimed to be similar to Botox.

The Moisturizing Cream is made up of:

  • Active Ingredient: Argireline.
  • Proprietary Blend: Matrixyl®, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Wheat Gluten and Ceratonia siliqua, Macrocystis pyrifera, Edelweis Extract, Shea Butter, Squalene, Evening Primrose Oil, Skin Tightener ST®, Pentacare NA ®.

  • Other Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Tricaprylin, Isocetyl Behenate, Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate, Butylene Glycol, Dexpanthenol, Hydrolized Wheat Protein, Triethanolamine, Cetyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Sodium PCA, Cholesterol, Stearic Acid, Matricaria Extract, Methylparaben, Polysorbate 20, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Tetrasodium EDTA.

Here again we see the use of the Argireline. We also see a repeat ingredient of Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a non-sulfated form of carbohydrate that is found in connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. Hyaluronic Acid is a part of your skin and it is involved in the rebuilding of skin when it is damaged by things like UV rays.

The Good

  • The touted new technology is being used in all 3 of the products.
  • You can buy the products online.

The Bad

  • Each product uses parabens, synthetic preservatives, in their formulation. Parabens have been linked to skin irritations and to allergic reactions. With all of the system steps containing them, you are triple-dosing your skin with each full application.
  • The new technology involved isn't proven yet. There are clinical studies that are showing promise, but many of these peptides and acids are still under investigation as to their efficacy in the long run.
  • We're dealing with a company that makes many different products and sometimes that can mean that a company's research budget is stretched thin.
  • Some of the ingredients in the proprietary mix are ingredients that you cannot find any information on outside of the website. They do not explain what they are or what they do.

The Bottom Line

The Revitol system's main pitch line is "Natural Skin Care," but most of the ingredients in these products are not natural. While the newest technology is being used, you do have to be careful of the long-term efficacy of such products. We like that the website gives us a lot of information about their clinical trials and they do list the full product ingredients. This is important for the consumer who wishes to be well informed.

Optional – For Enhanced Results: Hydrolyze®

After looking at so many anti-aging treatments, we've seen that the delicate skin around the eyes can be a real problem area for many people. Dark circles can make you look years older, and for some people even a good night's sleep won't make them go away.
