Skyn Iceland’s product line is comprised of both natural herbal ingredients and mainstream ingredients found in many skin-care products today. Some of Skyn Iceland’s products are as follows: Glacial Facial Wash, Bio-intense Healing Serum, Stress Defense Cream, Oxygen Infusion Night Cream, Nordic Skin Peel and the Detox Kit for Stressed Skin. The Oxygen Infusion Night Cream claims to “oxygenate” the skin. However, it has yet to be determined in the skin care industry how much oxygen is actually beneficial to the skin, particularly when so many products claim to protect the skin from free radical damage by combining antioxidants in their products. Thus, there remains the question as to whether “oxygenating” the skin is beneficial and, if so, how much. Further, this product, along with many other products within the Skyn Iceland line, contain a Biospheric Complex. The Bioshereic Complex is combined with rice peptides, which are claimed to support collagen synthesis so as to protect the skin from UV damage. However, as of now the benefits of rice peptides are unsubstantiated by Western scientific data and remain primarily an Eastern skin care treatment.
