On this website critics examine a number of popular health and beauty products available on the market today. The information presented on the site about each of the products assessed has been obtained from publicly available sources. Those critics and this web site are sponsored by Rauscher | Bekke, manufacturers of Dermapril-SP. The information on this website is intended to inform and educate consumers. OverviewTracie Martyn has worked as a make-up artist in the fashion industry since 1982. Her signature salon in Manhattan, as well as many of her products, have been featured in several publications such as W, Allure, Vanity Fair, Bazaar, and OK! Tracie Martyn’s products continue to be endorsed by a high-profile celebrity fan base. Tracie Martyn’s website states that her products are made from pure, natural and organic ingredients. She claims to be the “first all natural anti-aging skin care line”. Her signature service is the “Rescultping Facial” which incorporates a microscrystal peel, oxygen, and a mild current to enhance the contours of the face. This peel claims to reduce the signs of wrinkles, puffiness, double chins and droopy eyelids. Tracie Martyn’s Amla Purifying Cleanser, Firming Serum and Enzyme Exfolliant are designed to work synergistically with her signature salon services. Product DetailTracie Martyn’s Firming Serum retails for $185 for a 1 fluid ounce pump bottle. This Serum claims to lift and firm the face, strengthen the skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles by minimizing water loss through hydration. This Serum is boasted to contain “vital antioxidant enzymes”, a synergistic blend of phyto-chemicals to “protect collagen” and patented gylocosaminoglycans designed to “stop of the breakdown of collagen and strengthen the skin”. However, there is no ingredient(s) which work to stimulate the production of collagen, which is known for maintaining the skin’s elasticity. This product does appear to be very hydrating. However, other than the mystery antioxidants what other anti-aging benefits does this product really deliver? While it’s nice to tighten and firm one’s face, as well as to moisturize and protect, are these ingredients really preventing the inevitable aging process or correcting already damaged/aged skin? Without the ability to review this product’s complete ingredient list the efficacy of Tracie Martyn’s Firming Serum must be questioned. The Good
The Bad
Product SummaryOverall, Tracie Martyn’s products are quite expensive and heavily marketed by several publications and celebrity endorsements. In addition, they do not appear to contain collagen or hyraluonic acid or other commonly used patented amino acid peptides known for their anti-aging effects. Especially at the prices Tracie Martin charges, one must look through the celebrity hype and see these products for what they truly are.
