On this website critics examine a number of popular health and beauty products available on the market today. The information presented on the site about each of the products assessed has been obtained from publicly available sources. Those critics and this web site are sponsored by Rauscher | Bekke, manufacturers of Dermapril-SP. The information on this website is intended to inform and educate consumers. OverviewWilma Schumann Skin Care products were founded in 1976 after Ms. Schumann’s researching into European skin care techniques. Ms. Schumann’s skin care line was originally developed by its company’s European affiliates, although all of the products claim to be rigorously tested here in the United States. Wilma Schumann is a member of the Day Spa Association and the International Spa Association as well as the American Beauty Association. Ms. Schumann’s company was presented with the 2002 Crystal Award by the Professional Skin care industry as being the leading skin care company of the year. Ms. Schumann’s skin care line is distributed only to professionals at spas and salons, thus it may be difficult for the average person to purchase products from the Wilma Schumann Skin Care line. Ms. Schumann operates her own skin care clinic in Miami, Florida with a wide array of services that can be customized. Product DetailThe featured product Collagen 2000 contains fresh collagen in the form of a serum. It claims to give skin a supple feeling and look, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and provide hydration. It boasts that it is fragrance free and non-irritating. It is recommended as a moisturizer and soothing serum suitable for following up other, harsher skin treatments like microdermabrasion or a cream that is high in retinol. This product may be used twice daily for optimal results. The key ingredients are collagen, glycerin, lactic acid and panthenol. The primary ingredient, collagen, serves to promote elasticity therefore strengthening sagging aged skin to give a tone firm and youthful appearance. However, topical collagen in and of its self does not stimulate internal collagen production. Thus, there may be a more effective product on the market available to consumers looking for optimum collagen enhancers. The Good
The Bad
Product SummaryWilma Schumann’s Skin Care line does not appear unique in that it contains fresh collagen. In fact, it may be missing the larger picture by failing to include antioxidants, water binding agents and internal collagen stimulants so to deliver a superior anti-aging product. As situated, Ms. Schumann’s skin care line, and Collagen 200 in particular, does not appear to be particularly competitive compared to some of the anti-aging products on the market today. Because these products are available only through skin care professionals they are not readily accessible to the average consumer. Thus, inaccessibility and average ingredients may lead otherwise savvy consumers astray.
