On this website critics examine a number of popular health and beauty products available on the market today. The information presented on the site about each of the products assessed has been obtained from publicly available sources. Those critics and this web site are sponsored by Rauscher | Bekke, manufacturers of Dermapril-SP. The information on this website is intended to inform and educate consumers. OverviewWrinkle Essence is a “deep-penetrating” wrinkle serum that was developed by a company known as DHC, which is based in Japan. This particular skin treatment is claimed by the manufacturer to be the “essence of youthful skin.” DHC has been in business for over 20 years, and is known for olive oil-based cosmetics. Although Wrinkle Essence does not incorporate olive oil, it does make use of other moisturizing components. This skin care treatment appears to be marketed primarily toward middle-aged to aging women. When it comes down to it, Wrinkle Essence is basically an anti-aging cream/serum that endeavors to assist users with common aging afflictions such as crow’s feet, fine lines, frown lines, age spots, sun damage and sagging and deep facial wrinkles. The main active ingredient found in Wrinkle Essence is Trehalose, which is essentially a moisture-binding sugar molecule that comes from desert plants. It’s goal is to help these plants survive the severe heat and dryness, but without causing major damage to the plant itself. Trehalose has a similar purpose in the Wrinkle Essence serum. It aims to form a protective coating for skin cells, hence protecting them under harsh conditions. Wrinkle Essence is meant to be applied after cleansing and toning each night and/or morning. Product DetailsWrinkle Essence is a topical treatment for the facial skin. This DHC serum aims to correct redundant signs of aging skin such as sagging, fine lines, crow’s feet and other wrinkles. The primary component of Wrinkle Essence is commonly known as Trehalose. This moisture-binding sugar molecule works to defend your delicate face from the harsh elements, and keep it looking young and radiant. Wrinkle Essence is sold in a .67 fluid ounce container for $43.00 on the official DHC website. Other ingredients found in Wrinkle Essence are as follows; water, butylene glycol, glycerin, trehalose, sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed elastin, glycine soja (soybean) protein, natto gum, placental protein, allantoin, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, potassium DNA and methylparaben. The Good
The Bad
The Bottom LineWhile it’s encouraging to see how long the DHC company has been in business, it’s tough to tell if Wrinkle Essence is one of their finer products. Although it does make several claims regarding positive, age-reducing effects on the skin, there is really no guarantee that Wrinkle Essence will deliver. A few testimonials would certainly help DHC pitch this “anti-wrinkle serum,” however, it’s tough to trust cosmetics and skin treatments that contain butylene glycol in this day and age. When it comes down to it, there is no money-back guarantee if you choose to give this product a whirl, and you won’t get any trial samples either.
